The Making Waves Music Festival in Glaslough, County Monaghan took a number of measures to green their local music and food festival, including a series of exhibitors on a sustainable lifestyle like repairmystuff.ie, refill.ie, and the concious cup campaign. Biddy’s Day Festival, Killorglin
This year, the festival organisers are taking steps to green Biddy’s Day Festival. Supporters and participants at the event are being encouraged to: Use all the special segregated waste and recycling bins; Use public transport or car sharing to go to the event; Buy local goods where possible; Use the provided composting facilities; Only use biodegradable materials in the Biddy hat/cross production

Westmeath County Council, along with the EPA’s local Authority Prevention programme, worked with the Body & Soul festival to investigate measures that could be taken towards a more sustainable event. This involved a waste survey during the festival along with an assessment of water use.

The Connemara Mussel Festival
The Connemara Mussel Festival partnered with Galway County Council’s to take part in the Green Your Festival initiative. Particular focus was put on waste.
