Iverk Agricultural Show

The Iverk Show is the oldest agricultural show in Ireland, held each year in Piltown Co. Kilkenny. The show, the largest in the South-East, runs a wide variety of competitions, hosts a diverse range of vendors on the day, and has a large marquee and food hall.

Bernadette Moloney of Kilkenny County Council has worked with the organisers to reduce their waste management costs, assist food vendors to help prevent waste and has introduced reusable bags for trade stands. Measures were put in place to ensure food waste and recyclable waste streams from trade stands and food vendors were segregated for composting and recycling.
